Four Different Ways of Commands

Dự Lệnh và Động Lệnh – Commands in Action
- Dự Lệnh: To announce for people to be prepared.
- Động Lệnh: To announce everyone to move in action
- Example
- “Chuẩn bị chào”(Dự lệnh) … pause (wait everyone to prepare their position)

Cách Chào (Saluting)
Stand straight up, feet in V-shape, raise your right hand to shoulder height, the balm of your hand facing forward, hold the four fingers straight and together, and fold your thumb into your balm.
The four fingers represent Cầu Nguyện, Rước Lễ, Hy Sinh, và Làm Việc Tông Ðồ. The folding of your thumb represents your promise to do those four items.

Presentations
Individual Presentation
- Once you hear that you are requested by your Huynh Trưởng, straighten up your uniform, then approach your HT. Remember to keep 3 steps away from your HT.
- CHÀO your HT, you can put your hand down after your HT to CHÀO you back.
- Stand straight up in front of your HT and wait for your instructions. Once done, CHÀO your HT when they dismiss you, and return to your group.
Trình Diện Đội / Team Presentation
- Once you hear that your group is requested, the group leader need to relay the message to your group members. Call your team name. (EX: “Seraphim… Trong trắng! Đàng trước… bước!”)
- Team leader run counterclockwise behind your HT, and present yourself in front of your HT. The team should line up 5 steps in front, and in the middle of the HT.
- Use the group name to line up the group, then the leader announces “Bên Trái Quay!” to face the HT, and say “Chuẩn Bị Chào… Chào!”
- The group leader steps up and presents themselves in front of the Trưởng (no salute).
- As a group, CHÀO the HT one more time. The group leader announces “Bên Phải… Quay!”, then “Ðằng Trước… Bước!” (remember to walk counter clock wise behind the HT to go back to your place.)
Trình Diện Các Đội Trưởng / Presentation of Multiple DTs
- To present yourself: Once you hear that your are requested by your Huynh Trưởng, straighten up your uniform.
- Then approach your HT, all DT line in front of HT (3 steps away)
- CHÀO your Trưởng, you can put your hand down after your HT to CHÀO you back.
- Stand straight up in front of your Huynh Trưởng, and wait for your instructions. Once you have received the instructions from your Huynh Trưởng, CHÀO your Trưởng, wait for your Trưởng to dismiss you, and return to your group.
Receiving Awards / Diễn Tiến Lãnh Thưởng
Khen Thưởng Cá Nhân (Individual)
- When your name is called, run straight up to HT, and then CHÀO
- HT will award you a ribbon on your RIGHT shoulder & shake hands
- CHÀO and then run back to your place
- Trưởng Trực will sing a song.
Khen Thưởng Nhiều Cá Nhân (Many Individuals)
- Everyone steps up towards HT when your names are called. First person in the middle, next people alternate sides.
- When everyone has come, the first person on the right will command “Chuẩn bị chào … Chào!”.
- A ribbon awarded to everyone on the right shoulder & shake hands.
- When finishes the first person on the right will command CHÀO, and then everyone return to their place.
- Trưởng Trực will sing a song.
Khen Thưởng Đội (Whole Team)
- ĐT calls team “Seraphim”, and everyone responds “Trong trắng!”. Next use flag command to have the team turn right. ĐT calls: “Đàng trước … Bước!”.
- ĐT leads the team to run around counterclockwise behind HT and then horizontally line up in front of HT (5 steps away)
- ĐT lines up the team, calls out the team to turn left to face HT and CHÀO “Bên trái … Quay!” , “Chuẩn bị chào … Chào!”.
- The ĐT steps up and presents themselves in front of HT (no salute).
- Raise the flag straight up and then release down to 90 degree angle
- Once you have received the ribbon, place flag down & shake hands.
- As a group, CHÀO the HT one more time. The group leader announces “Bên Phải… Quay!”, then “Ðằng Trước… Bước!” (remember to run counterclock behind the HT) and then return.
Khen Thướng Nhiều Đội (Many Teams)
- ĐT calls team “Seraphim”, and everyone responds “Trong trắng!”. Next use flag command to have the team turn right. ĐT calls: “Đàng trước … Bước!”.
- The team to run around counterclockwise behind HT and then horizontally line up in front of HT (5 steps away), next team behind.
- ĐT lines up the team, calls out the team to turn left to face HT and “Bên trái … Quay!” Once all teams are ready DT lead will calls out to everyone to CHÀO “Chuẩn bị chào … Chào!”.
- All ĐT step up and present themselves in front of HT (no salute).
- Raise the flag straight up and then release down to 90 degree angle
- Once you have received the ribbon, place flag down & shake hands.
- As a group, CHÀO the HT one more time DT lead will call out CHÀO. The group leaders announce “Bên Phải… Quay!”, then “Ðằng Trước… Bước!” (remember to run counterclock behind the HT) and then return.
Đội Lãnh Cờ Danh Dự (Team Receiving Cờ Danh Dự)
Cờ Danh Dự is the highest award in TNTT activities. The team shows excellence in spiritual activities, learning skills, team spirit, and team work competitions.
- ĐT calls team “Seraphim”, and everyone responds “Trong trắng!”. Next use flag command to have the team turn right. ĐT calls: “Đàng trước … Bước!”.
- ĐT leads the team to run around counterclockwise behind HT and then horizontally line up in front of HT (3 steps away)
- ĐT lines up the team, calls out the team to turn left to face HT and CHÀO “Bên trái … Quay!”, “Chuẩn bị chào … Chào!”.
- The ĐT steps up and presents themselves in front of HT(no salute).
- Raise the flag straight up and then release down to 90 degree angle
- Once you have received Cờ Danh Dự, shake hands.
- As a group, CHÀO the HT one more time. The group leader announces “Bên Phải… Quay!”, then “Ðằng Trước… Bước!” (remember to run counterclock behind the HT) and then return.
Meaning of Ribbons
- Green Ribbon: Spiritual
- Green is the color of Ấu Nhi, symbolizing the spirit of prayer. This is awarded for spiritual activities or work that grows the faith and promotes piety.
- Blue Ribbon: Activities
- The color of the Thiếu Nhi, symbolizing the spirit of sacrifice, always living in joy despite hardships, and bringing happiness to everyone. This is awarded for excellence in fun activities, dancing, performances, & creative talents.
- Yellow Ribbon: Learning
- The color of Nghĩa Sĩ, symbolizing the spirit of sowing, always trying to improve themselves, where today they learn and tomorrow they help others. This is awarded for academics, unique and richness in the arts, technical expertise in the training camp.
- Brown Ribbon: Servant Leadership
- Brown is the color of the Hiệp Sĩ, the color of dirt symbolizing humility, and awarded for members who live a life of servant leadership. We are called to model after Jesus Christ in living a life of humility, love, and service in the role of a leader.
- Red Ribbon: Highest Spirit
- The color of Huynh Trưởng, symbolizing the spirit of noble servant-ship, being selfless for the ideal. The red ribbon is awarded for a holistic spirit that includes the natural and the supernatural. A spirit of patience, forgiveness, dedication in all work, persistence in all trials, listening in all mistakes, a gracious spirit in all communications.
